It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Judith Davison, a deeply valued and cherished member of our community.
Judith served with distinction, first holding the position of membership secretary and eventually becoming the chairman. In more recent years, she devoted her time and expertise to the role of Librarian — a position she approached with the same quiet dedication and care that defined everything she did.
Judith was an ever-present pillar at the society meetings. Whether presiding over meetings with calm authority or carefully cataloguing our collection. She brought warmth, diligence, knowledge, and a genuine passion for what she did. Those who had the privilege of working alongside her will know how much she meant to this organisation and how much poorer we are for her absence.
Her contributions as Chairman shaped the direction of our society, and her continued involvement as Librarian ensured that our heritage and resources were in the safest of hands. She was, in every sense of the word, a custodian — of our knowledge, our history, and our community spirit.
We extend our deepest sympathies to Judith’s family, friends, and all those who loved her. She will be greatly missed by every member of our society, and her memory will endure in the work she leaves behind.
Rest in peace, Judith. Thank you for everything.
